Pasando por este libro de patrones japoneses. De las camisas de papi se aprovecha todo. Los botones están ahora en este vestido y la tela (incluida la entretela de los puños) se ha convertido en esta blusa para ella.

I reuse everything from Daddy's shirts. The buttons are now on this dress and the soft cotton fabric was perfect for this blouse. The pattern is from this japanese book.

Hacer la blusa con un patrón japones (con instrucciones en japones) ha sido todo un reto. Ya creía yo que por ser la segunda vez iba a ser muy fácil, pero no lo ha sido tanto. La blusa es relativamente simple: un canesú, el cuerpo con frunces, mangas con puños y la lazada. A simple vista no hay detalles complicados pero es que los japoneses son japoneses. Los japoneses son los que hacen origami. Y bonsáis. Y los que escriben por símbolos raros, no letras. Y por eso deben tener los dedos mas largos y finos del planeta, y máquina de coser especiales en miniatura. Los márgenes de costura son de 1cm, y los pespuntes a 1 milímetro!! La lazada por ejemplo parece sencilla pero se construye de una forma muy rara. Luego queda muy bien porque no tiene pespuntes pero la forma de coserla al cuello fue desesperante para mis dedos porrones.

It's been my second project from a japanese book but this has been a challenge. It's a simple blouse but has a complicated way of constructing the neck tie. Japanese make origami and bonsais, and write with funny symbols so what did I expect? Seam allowances are a mere 1cm and topstitching at 0.1cm. They use fabric as paper, as if it was capable of holding the shape without ironing. Most of the times I couldn't fit the iron so I pressed using my fingers. Others I had to baste and baste again. My european brain couldn't understand the logic of the assembling process but I stuck to it the best I could and now I'm happy I did.


Pero el esfuerzo ha merecido la pena. El sábado tenemos un cumple y será su gran estreno (bueno, con nueva imagen, porque esta camisa ya ha visto mucho mundo)

The end result is neat and, well, japanese.
